World-Class Precision On Display at the 16th ICTSF World DTL Championships

The 16th ICTSF World Down The Line (DTL) Championships delivered an extraordinary display of marksmanship, mental fortitude, and global camaraderie at the Canterbury Clay Target Club in Christchurch, New Zealand. Bringing together hundreds of elite competitors across international divisions, the tournament produced high-caliber scores and unforgettable performances.

High Overall & Individual Champions

Australia’s Dan Power captured the coveted High Overall title with an exceptional score of 892, edging out fellow countryman Royce Normington in a thrilling contest. New Zealand’s rising prodigy Lachlan Emslie completed the High Overall podium in 3rd place with a score of 891, while also claiming 1st Place in the Junior Division.

In the category individual events:

  • Juniors: Lachlan Emslie (NZ – 891) took gold, closely followed by Edward Armett (England – 889) and defending champion James Sullivan (NZ – 886).
  • Ladies: Australia’s Tracey Stringer secured 1st place with 869 points, followed by Amy Smith (Australia – 868) and Maddie France (NZ – 868).
  • Veterans: New Zealand’s Jon Beddis dominated the division with an impressive score of 890.
  • Super Veterans: Australia’s Kim Nealon took top honors with a score of 888.

  • Team Division Highlights

Host nation New Zealand and visiting Australian teams put on a dominant showing across the team categories:

  • Open Team: New Zealand 1 (Jonathan Beddis, Lukas Nicholl, Toby Nicholl, Karl Lapwood, Steven Luke) claimed victory with 2,359 points, ahead of Australia B (2,344) and Australia A (2,335).
  • Juniors Team: New Zealand 1 (James Sullivan, Lachlan Emslie, Lachlan Lovett) posted a winning score of 1,181, holding off strong challenges from England (1,173) and Australia A (1,169).
  • Ladies Team: New Zealand 1 (Maddie France, Anja van de Wetering, Dhylen Hyland) captured gold with 1,148 points.
  • Veterans & Super Veterans Teams: Australia A demonstrated deep tactical skill to sweep gold in both the Veterans (1,174 points) and Super Veterans (1,168 points) divisions.
